Meet Amber

Hi, I’m Amber—founder of Replanted in France and a fellow immigrant learning to put down roots in a new country. I first moved abroad in 2020, landing in Ireland for several transformative years. In 2024, I followed a long-held dream and relocated to Paris, a city I’ve adored for since my first visit in 2015. It’s now my home base, and the inspiration behind much of the work I do.

I started this site because I know firsthand that moving abroad is about so much more than getting a visa or finding a place to live. Feeling truly rooted—like you belong—takes time, intention, and effort. From learning the language and navigating bureaucracy to making new friends and embracing cultural differences, creating a new life here is a journey. But it’s a deeply rewarding one.

Through Replanted in France, I want to share the knowledge, encouragement, and resources I wish I’d had when I started. Whether you’re planning a scouting trip, weighing your options, or counting down to your move, my goal is to help you land with confidence—and start building a life that feels like your own.

Why I Started Replanted in France

The idea for this site took root at Move Abroad Con 2025 in San Antonio, where I met dozens of people exploring life abroad—many of them newly motivated by the results of the 2024 U.S. election. I was struck by how many attendees had their sights set on France, but weren’t sure where to start. That’s when I realized I had something to offer: not just my lived experience, but also my commitment to honesty, nuance, and community.

I believe the people who thrive in France are the ones who are open to change, curious about the culture, and willing to build meaningful connections. That’s the heart of what Replanted in France is all about.
